How companies participating in relevant and upcoming trends on TikTok are reaping the rewards of increased SEO ratings, online traffic plus more.

The types of users that come to mind when imagining TikTok trends usually consist of the average person dancing to viral sounds, influencers promoting the latest skincare products or meme accounts creating and sharing the most popular memes based on current socially and culturally relevant moments in media, politics and much more.

But in recent years, there have been many companies over most if not all industries that have decided to log on to TikTok and steer their marketing strategies towards participating in all the latest trends, which has significantly increased a lot of companies’ online presence.

This unique approach to digital marketing breaks all the rules of ‘old-school’ sales and marketing by posting casual and fun content which brings the personalities of the company’s employees forward (especially the employees the most involved with social media marketing) and leaving the obvious sales advertising techniques behind.

TikTok as a marketing strategy is also a fantastic way of engaging and targeting the younger generations such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha with their products/services with some companies even directly interacting with customers in friendly and hilarious ways, for example, posting comments on random user’s videos.

The companies that are succeeding on TikTok the most all have one thing in common… They are having WAY more fun posting their content than everyone else and they are not afraid to show it.

So, which companies are benefiting the most right now?

  • Duolingo
    • Duolingo has been at the top of the TikTok branding game for a while now and for good reason. From their mixture of character building they use to create the personalities of their cast of in-app characters such as their iconic green owl called ‘Duo’ to creating ‘brain-rot’ trending memes.

This includes Duolingo’s latest trend relating to one of their in-app events, the mysterious ‘deaths’ of Duo and his friends.

Duolingo’s TikTok account has over 15 Million followers and their videos regularly reach view counts in the millions, which has seriously elevated the amount of users joining their app.

  • Chipotle
    • Another successful business that has gained popularity through TikTok is Chipotle, who have an even more varied content range, which includes food hacks, collaborations with influencers and sport teams, joining in on trends and even a collection of compilation videos of ‘boomers’ trying to pronounce the word ‘Chipotle’.

Because of their TikTok marketing strategy, they have amassed a following of 2.5 Million followers with more customers than ever in all of their chain restaurants across the globe.

  • Specsavers
    • Lastly, another company worth noting for their TikTok marketing strategy is Specsavers as they use their platform to distribute important information about eye health, eye tests, facts about eyes and debunking eye myths. But of course, like any other company on TikTok they have their fair share of trends they are getting involved with too.

A TikTok case study like Specsavers is an impactful marketing strategy that can be utilised more within local opticians like one of our upcoming clients, Robson Opticians who specialise in all the best quality eye care, eye tests and audiology in Newcastle and the North East and are aiming to bring TikTok into their marketing strategies in 2025.

Overall, if your company is considering taking the leap into the world of TikTok and other social media, we absolutely encourage you and your business to give this energetic and fresh way of boosting your online traffic a go!
