Tell me about your business
We are a small accountancy practice based in the North East but with clients all across the UK (and some beyond!) We offer a range of tax advice and added value services. The main thing we strive to do is provide peace of mind and assurance to our clients at a competitive rate.
What drives you to succeed?
90% of my new clients come from referrals and this reflects my desire to give the best possible service to clients. I also enjoying the variety of industries that clients work in and tailoring my advice accordingly.
What’s the best business advice you’ve been given?
When I did my business degree a university professor who previously worked in America highlighted the cultural differences between the USA and UK in terms of failure, whether that be in business or any aspect of life. He said that when a business fails in America it’s seen as a positive outcome. You can learn from it and take it forward. In the UK, it tends to be seen as a character default of the person and a big stigma. Because of this people tend to take less risks. Failure isn’t to be feared but not trying is.
What advice would you give to others?

What has Sleeky done for you?
Sleeky have been invaluable in both creating a foundation of my company image and from there providing additional services to help me build on this. The professionalism and the value for money they provide is fantastic and I would honestly struggle to think of any other supplier who I could go to in the region who has these two aspects to them.
How important is your website to your business?
I believe that any type of new client will always do some research on my practice. The website will arguably be the first thing they see in relation to Fortis. It is therefore fundamental that it conveys our desired approach to customer care and professionalism to the highest standard.
How did you find dealing with us?
Sleeky have always been approachable and adaptable to my needs. I have had 3 websites designed by them along with various other design products. Each time I feel that the quality of work is of a high standard, the price is good and if I need any amendments this is always dealt with promptly too.
And lastly, we love food – what’s your favourite restaurant in the North East?
The Y-Thai Restaurant in Stokesley. Red thai curry with sticky rice and noodles. Beautiful.
