Instagram’s professional dashboard debuted this year and is conceived of as a hub of tools to help users streamline administrative tasks, gathering together all of the platforms preexisting business tools and consolidating them in one succinct location on the app. We think you’d be nuts not to get to grips with this aspect of the social media giants interface, and we’re here today to talk about why.

Once you’re in, you’ll notice that the dashboard is peppered with tools you may already be somewhat familiar with. The idea behind the professional dashboard, however, is that it draws all of these tools into one place so that you can measure all of your efforts in one simple spot. From this area of your account, you’ll be able to track performance, access tools and tap into educational information and resources, ace!

Now you’re in, let’s take a brief look at the three main features you can expect to find on your dashboard…

#1 Track Your Business Account Performance

Here you’ll find many of the tools which you may already recognise in a nifty section titled Track Your Performance at the top of your Professional Dashboard. From this section, you’ll be able to access a straightforward at-a-glance rundown of your accounts reach, offering you the chance to discover insights and trends based on the performance of your content.

Using these tools you’ll be able to access some basic stats on how many accounts you’ve been able to reach over the course of the last month. Additionally, you can also tap on the See All Insights link to dig into more detail.

#2 Grow Your Business

Following on from the Track Your Performance section, you’ll find the next area of the dashboard, dubbed Grow Your Business. Here, Instagram lays out all the tools for you to utilise towards revenue generation. You’ll find the means necessary to promote and boost individual posts, as well as all the tools you need to manage products within your Instagram shop. In this section, you can also manage your Branded Content Approvals, i.e. how you want your account to handle any tagging from partners.

Our favourite feature within this section is the Saved Replies tool, which allows you to create saved shortcuts that you can use to reply to DM’s. Particularly helpful if you find yourself spending a lot of time replying to the same FAQ’s and need a way to make this whole process easier and less time-consuming!

#3 Stay Informed

Finally, at the bottom of your Professional Dashboard, you’ll stumble across the Stay Informed section. This is where you’ll find all of Instagram’s learning resources aimed towards the goal of growing your account, including handy articles and helpful carousels which will introduce you to other nifty Instagram features and the best practices to get the most out of each.

Wrap up!

Interestingly, the Professional Dashboard is largely indicative of Instagram’s growing focus on monetising the platform, as an ever increasing number of content creators and small business owners fasten on to Instagram as the core of their business strategy. So, if you’re a small business owner or a creator, it’s about time you tapped into Instagram’s Professional Dashboard and made the most of it’s wealth of features, all designed with the aim of helping you to grow your reach!
