How To Create Great Content

One of the first things we tell our clients when they come to us to build them a new website is “content is king”.

We can build you the most amazing website but if the text is poorly written, irrelevant or there’s too much of it (or too little!) then it won’t matter.

Make sure your text reads well and above all makes sense. This will build trust and reinforce your credibility and professionalism. Get someone to proof read text before you publish it as spelling and grammatical errors are a big turn off for most people.

Calls to action

What do you want visitors to your site to do? This is the first thing you need to think about when creating your content, and everything should be driving people to your ‘call to action’.

Whether you want them to buy your products directly via an ecommerce site, pick up the phone or send an email, it’s all about how you drive people to these areas and make it as simple as possible for them.

Engage your audience

There are various ways of engaging with your audience through quality content. One way is through a blog, where you can show your personality and give visitors to your site interesting information.  You can also use social media to share content and drive people to your site. Read our article on using Twitter and Facebook for business here.

Search engines like Google put emphasis on content that is readable and good quality. They will penalise you if your content is duplicated elsewhere on your site or on the web.

If you’re struggling to create quality content it’s worth considering hiring a professional copywriter to create content for your site. They will make sure that the text is tailored to your business and audience and drives them to your calls to action. We offer copywriting services, get in touch if you’d like to discuss.

Videos, Images and Infographics

People want to access information in the quickest and easiest way possible. Consider video as a visual way of engaging with your audience that will have a big impact. Images are also very important,  and stats show that stock images will make visitors less likely to trust your business. Hire a photographer to take photos of your business and you’ll reap the rewards.

So now you have a better idea about how to make sure your content is amazing, why not put it into action?

We are always happy to help and provide ideas, suggestions and even copywrite content for you.
